The culture we live in today trains us to adopt our identity instead of developing it. This is a huge problem for a couple reasons, the first being that this lack of identity leads us into living someone else’s life. Meaning we are often assigned a role we never directly chose, & in turn feel obligated to live that role out. Second, the lack of individualized people in the world means we lack TRUE leadership. People who understand themselves think independently, take responsibility, & help others do the same. The development of the individual is so important because these steps create the foundation to finding your purpose and passions in life. Without understanding who you are, you can never understand who you could become. So this leads us to ask, how do we fix this problem? I think the combination of two established ideas will change our culture. Individuation & Eudaimonia.
